J's references all contained one thing: daisies. Not overflowing, but perfectly heroed in asymmetrical arrangements and paired with wild foliage or even lush creamy roses.
Whites and greens are always a timeless and apt option for the sanctity of church weddings, especially among the light wood of this venue. We gave her floral hedges some depth with pops of yellow, a rustic twist with brown sweet pea (straight from Hokkaido!), and finally some height with local shrubs that the church caretaker cracked a rare smile at and adopted.
We also lined the front of the aisle with alternating floral hedges, just for that little extra garden beckoning down the aisle.
They celebrated their first anniversary last weekend with a red preserved bouquet - you'll have many more years to trial more palettes, G!
