Some people truly have a gift with words - E is a(n award-winning, as we like to emphasise) copywriter which meant speeches, joy and booze flowed aplenty at this celebration. And so for the rare things we do not have words for, I seek to convey with flowers.
It poured all week- when they ran their errands, when they banned me from using the r-word in our group chat, when we loaded their florals. But then the sun burst clear for this outdoor solemnisation.
Thus began the rush - a couple of hedges repurposed indoors for their tea ceremony, then to the ballroom where more willows awaited in a scape for some couple shots, and then the festivities began.
A true balance between an outpouring of excitement and restraint: K's gown comprised large 3D roses but was sleek satin everywhere else. To match, her bouquet only contained one flower variety- bouncy, fragrant sweet pea from Hokkaido.
These two make a team indeed- E crafts the thoughtful messages on bouquets for their loved ones' special occasions, but K keeps track and places the orders. It must be a privilege to be their kith and kin.
